Our commitment
Our community engagement philosophy is vital to the success of our renewable energy projects. We prioritise transparent, respectful, and meaningful relationships with stakeholders and communities throughout project development. Our approach encourages open dialogue, trust, and understanding by providing timely and accessible project information. By engaging early and thoughtfully, we gain insights into community priorities and incorporate feedback into project planning, aligning closely with local needs and values.
We emphasise accountability, responsiveness, and genuine commitment to community welfare to earn residents’ support and goodwill. Our commitment to the Rockhampton region includes respecting community perspectives, facilitating collaboration, developing long-term relationships, and supporting local economies. Guided by industry best practices, we ensure diverse stakeholder engagement, accessibility, and ongoing improvement.
What we have heard
At Greenleaf Renewables, our engagement focusses on building meaningful connections and collaboration with our stakeholders throughout the Rockhampton region.
We have begun engaging with host landholders, neighbouring landholders, surrounding communities, the Rockhampton Regional Council, the Darumbal People, and other key stakeholders to ensure their voices are heard and valued throughout the project.
In November and December 2023, we hosted two community open days at Ridgelands Hall to introduce the project and hear initial feedback. Since these sessions, the project team has had numerous face-to-face meetings with key stakeholders. We have also published two editions of the Moonlight Range Wind Farm Newsletter, media releases and a Project Update.
Some of the key feedback topics from the community open days included the following:
- Cumulative project impact considerations;
- Development approvals pathway – requirements and expected timing;
- Noise and visual impacts;
- Transport considerations; and
- Ecology related matters impacting flora and fauna species.;
As we continue to move forward, we invite further engagement and feedback from all stakeholders to ensure that our project reflects the community’s needs and aspirations.
Please share your thoughts with us by participating in our survey. Together, we can create a sustainable future for the Rural West Rockhampton region.
